GMS is the pioneer in the industry to develop the unique Sustainable Ship and Offshore Recycling Program,
and it is the first and only Compliance Monitoring program to be successfully verified and validated by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA)
GMS team has developed an award-winning program to provide an End-to-End solution for ensuring sustainable ship recycling. The SSORP steps in when the ship-owner decides to recycle a ship. The team of experts monitors the complete recycling process from the beginning until the completion of the recycling process. SSORP is very high on the value and low on the price.
The LRQA verification will assure operators whose vessels are recycled under the SSORP that the process meets the requirements of IMO’s International Maritime Organization’s MEPC 210(63) 2012 guidelines for safe and environmentally sound ship recycling as well as the Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships (HKC).
Learn moreSSORP uniquely measures the Carbon Footprint of each recycled vessel, prioritizing environmental impact. Notably, these carbon footprint calculations are verified by a reputable class society, ensuring accuracy and reliability in our environmental impact assessments.
From IHM preparation to Ship Recycling Plans and monitoring the entire recycling process, we ensure every step adheres to HKC guidelines.
Our impeccable safety record boasts zero fatal accidents, underscoring our commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.
With over 125 vessels safely recycled and more than 100 Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM) surveys conducted across India, Bangladesh, and Turkey, SSORP is a leader in the field.
At SSORP, we offer cost-effective, comprehensive solutions for ship recycling. Our holistic approach includes delivering detailed progress reports and ensuring optimal outcomes for ship owners.
